Ways to Give Back

From time to time, alumni and companies express an interest in making a financial contribution to the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at UMBC to support its education and research missions.  You can use the links below to make such a donation and designate it specifically to the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry.  These donations can be designated to a number of worthy Departmental scholarship funds to help support students in the Department or to the Department’s General Fund, which is used to help underwrite student research efforts and a variety of educational and research endeavors (see list below).  On behalf of the Department, I would like to Thank You greatly for your kind donation.

Victor Vitullo Award for Research
Named after a former distinguished member of the department, the Vitullo award honors an undergraduate student in Chemistry/Biochemistry for research excellence.

John Mittino Award for Chemistry Service
Awarded for exceptional level of service in the Chemistry Department.

Lise Satterfield Scholarship
The Slatterfield scholarship was established in 2001 and has just attained a level of funding to allow the awarding of endowment funds. Dr. Satterfield has established criteria for the award which recognizes an outstanding junior in chemistry with research experience.

Donald Creighton Memorial Scholarship Fund
The Creighton Scholarship was just recently established, by his wife Arlene, in memory of our recently departed colleague.

Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry General Fund
Support can also be supplied to the General Fund which underwrites student research, the Undergraduate Research Symposium, and a variety of educational and research endeavors.
