ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY:
The Davies Fellowship Program is a joint effort between U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command (DEVCOM) Army Research Laboratory (ARL) and the United States Military Academy (USMA) with the goal of providing postdoctoral scientists and engineers the exciting opportunity serve dual roles by teaching in academic department at USMA and conducting research in a technical Directorate at DEVCOM ARL. At USMA, teaching experience is gained under the guidance of senior faculty mentors. At ARL, valuable research experience is realized by working on problems of interest to the U.S. Army.
OPPORTUNITIES ARE AVAILABLE IN THE FOLLOWING RESEARCH FOCUS AREAS:

The incumbent is a Research Chemist in the National Center for Agricultural Utilization Research, Bio-Oils Research (BOR) Unit in Peoria, Illinois. The overall mission of BOR is to conduct basic and applied research on chemical, physical, and biochemical modification of new crop oils, gums, proteins, and other plant components to develop new industrial and value-added commercial products. The incumbent is responsible for conducting basic and applied research to develop new commercial technologies, processes, and biobased products for various markets including lubricant additives, lubricant base oils, and chemical additives. Incumbent will develop a stakeholder base to advocate for enhancing ARS research programs and to enable commercialization of new biobased products.

Groundwater Specialist Opening at USGS Maryland-Delaware-DC Water Science Center

The Maryland-Delaware-District of Columbia Water Science Center is looking for a Groundwater Specialist (Grade GS-13, Salary $112,015-145,617) to provide technical support and quality oversight to Center data-collection and interpretive project efforts. Applicants should have strong mentoring skills, as well as knowledge of statistical hydrology, groundwater hydraulics and(or) groundwater modeling. The successful candidate will have experience developing and completing groundwater projects and reports. In addition, the candidate should have interest and experience building interpretative science program related to groundwater.
