Upcoming Scheduled Facilities Maintenance and Repairs

Below is a list of scheduled maintenance and repair operations with potential to affect routine operations in the building or access to areas of the building.  This list will be updated weekly to provide an up-to-date schedule for planning purposes.  Emails will still be sent out to remind of events that will impact a large portion of the building and more directed emails for smaller known events, but this list is to provide a more long-term view of upcoming major repairs/maintenance as we become aware.  Should you have any questions please reach out to Brian Moravec (bmoravec@umbc.edu).

 

  • March 31st to April 2nd: Whiteboard resurfacing throughout building – Complete
  • May 12 to July 5: ADA renovation of 301, 340, 372. Project to add one ADA compliant work station for each teaching lab. Multiple contractors will be on site, almost exclusively on the 3rd floor. Should be minimal impact on most of the building. It could be noisy during the demolition phase. The main contractors will be EMJAY and H2I, but various subcontractors will be onsite for part of the project. All personnel should be wearing shirts with a logo or orange vest. All work is scheduled to be complete by SSII.
  • May 12 to July 5: Siemens will continue replacing old HVAC controls in  301, 305, 302, and 310. All work is scheduled to be complete by SSII.
  • May 23rd – June 9th 2025: Annual Hot Water Shutdown and Maintenance
  • Oct 6th 2025 – Jan 6th 2026: Construction/Repair to Chemistry Courtyard to address water issues in MEYR 030 and loose bricks on upper floors of Chemistry Building.
